
About the Class
IUPUI W231
W231 is a class available to IUPUI students through the School of Liberal Arts. This course focuses on fostering a relationship between students and a community client. Students in W231 collaborate with peers to provide hours of research and analysis for a local client to improve an area of concern. It is estimated that in 2020 W231 students dedicated over 35,000 volunteer hours to community clients.

Individual Projects

Connect with and interview a local business owner as a potential client

Apply professional writing skills to compose documents such as memos, emails, letters, and personal statements.
Team Project
This project spans over the course of 10 weeks and results in the recommendation report found on this website. The project consists of creating and distributing a local study, as well providing around 200 hours of research and analysis for the recommendation report.
