After researching various topics within marketing support groups, we formulated a list of recommendations. St. Luke’s Support Group can apply these various techniques  to their organization in order to retain and gain new single moms in their support group.

  1. Increase Social Media Presence through Facebook

    • Create a unique and effective Social Media Platform.

    • Allow current members to share Facebook group in place of personal invitation.

    • Stay connected with the Single Moms community. 

    • Share personal stories to connect with prospective members.

  2. Explore Different Meeting Times 

    • Host meetings on the weekends 

      • Encourage member turn out by emphasizing free childcare​

    • Offer the option to video call into in-person meetings

    • Have meeting time options for every other week vs every week

    • Offer the option for different groups to only meet over video call or to only meet in person. 

  3. Market Groups Through Special Events and Planned Content

    • Host different single moms events at the church to attract potential members.

      • Different options can be; Single Mom’s Conference, Night of Worship, Game Night, and Brunch. 

    • Share upcoming topics to excite members and encourage engagement

      • Create calendars showing what you will talk about in coming weeks so members can share with prospective members. 

      • Create a sermon series to encourage member retention and interest new members. 

        • Implement different series that center around one topic to create anticipation for the next meeting. 

  4. Create an Engaging Facebook Group 

    • Start a Facebook Page 

    • Create the Right Community 

    • Promote the Facebook Group 

    • Engage with your Group Members Daily 

    • Post Content That your Group Members Want 

  5. Highlight Various Services When Marketing 

    • Offering Free Childcare During Meetings 

    • Promote Financial Assistance and Educational Opportunities

    • Promote Free Meals at Meetings
